The LEGO® Technic™ Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear Megacar 42232 has been officially unveiled. This adds a new flagship model to the LEGO Technic Ultimate Car Concept Series. This impressive supercar comprises 4,104 pieces and is designed for adult builders who love engineering, speed and intricate details.
The set is based on the real-life Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear, a megacar that combines extreme performance with innovative engineering. LEGO and Koenigsegg have worked closely together to capture the essence of this car as faithfully as possible in a challenging 1:8 scale LEGO Technic model.
LEGO® Technic Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear 42232: engineering on a small scale
The LEGO Technic Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear 42232 is packed with features befitting a model from the top Technic range. The set features a V8 piston engine, working steering, a removable roof and a functional 9-speed gearbox. Another new feature is the rotating gear indicator, which lets you see which gear the model is in.
One of the most striking features is the working Ghost Mode. With a single movement, the tailgate, bonnet and the distinctive dihedral synchro-helix doors open. At the same time, the wing mirrors also fold in. This means the model doesn’t just feel like a display piece, but also like a mechanical masterpiece that you really want to try out.
The unique Triplex suspension system at the front and rear makes the set particularly interesting for Technic fans. It clearly demonstrates why this series is so popular with builders who are looking for more than just a beautiful scale model.
Life-size LEGO® Technic Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear reached 111 km/h
Around the time of the launch, LEGO also built a life-size, drivable LEGO Technic Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear. This life-size version was tested on Goodwood Hill and reached a top speed of 111 km/h. This made it the fastest drivable LEGO Technic ‘big build’ car the LEGO Group has ever produced.
The life-size Koenigsegg consists of 327,906 LEGO elements and weighs approximately 1,800 kilos. Of that weight, around 400 kilos consists of LEGO parts. The construction and development took more than 9,400 hours. Even features such as Ghost Mode and the Koenigsegg key have been incorporated into the large-scale model.

The Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear is the sixth model in the LEGO Technic Ultimate Car Concept Series. This series began in 2016 and brings a unique sports car to life in large scale every two years. The series comprises the following models:

The LEGO Technic Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear Megacar 42232 will be released for LEGO Insiders on 1 July 2026 and will be generally available via LEGO from 4 July 2026. The set has a recommended retail price of €449.99 and is intended for builders aged 18 and over.
