Jan Dodonna is a very experienced Rebel Alliance General. For example, he was the Sector Command officer of the forces located on Yavin 4. He was also the tactician who analyzed the Death Star's plans and discovered Galen Erso's sabotage. He planned the attack that destroyed the Death Star.
