The mermaid Ariel enjoys the storm and the high waves in which she can dance. Then she sees Prince Erik's ship which is in distress and is sinking. The mermaid rescues Erik from the waves and brings him safely to land. Ariel sings to him and then Prince Erik happily recovers.
