In 2026, LEGO® NINJAGO® will celebrate its 15th anniversary. What began in 2011 as a bold new LEGO-themed world grew into one of the longest-running and most popular LEGO series ever. With epic stories, recognizable characters and a huge variety of sets, NINJAGO captivates generations of builders. From pilots to global hit
LEGO NINJAGO made its debut in 2011 with the pilots "Way of the Ninja." The four original ninjas Kai, Jay, Cole and Zane took on Lord Garmadon and his skeleton army. The combination of action, humor and Japanese influences caught on immediately. New seasons, vehicles, dragons and playsets soon followed, firmly establishing NINJAGO within the LEGO assortment.
A look back at 15 years of LEGO NINJAGO sets
In fifteen years, hundreds of LEGO NINJAGO sets appeared. From compact spinner sets and starter models to large temples, mechas and iconic dragons. Think early classics like the Fire Temple, Destiny's Bounty and the ninja's original dragons. Later, popular lines such as NINJAGO City, the Oni and Dragon trilogy, Seabound and Dragons Rising followed. Each generation of sets brought new building techniques and designs, but stayed true to the core theme.
