Bring GTA VI to life in an impressive LEGO® diorama

A white speedboat races across clear blue water; Lucia and Jason are trying to shake off the police, and three palm trees create a sunny Vice City vibe. Hovering above the entire chase scene is the massive GTA VI logo in white, blue, purple, pink, and orange. Hachiroku24 didn’t build an entire city, but he built just enough to make Grand Theft Auto VI instantly recognizable.
The LEGO® GTA VI diorama is compact, colorful, and packed with clever building techniques. The speedboat hovers at an angle above the water, the letters of the logo are built entirely from LEGO pieces, and the trunks of the palm trees consist of pieces that weren’t originally designed for trees at all.
The creation is an unofficial LEGO MOC by hachiroku24. In his YouTube video, he shows the MOC up close. For game fans, it’s a particularly recognizable display model. For MOC builders, it’s above all a wonderful collection of clever ideas that you can also use in other creations.
Hachiroku24 is no stranger to the LEGO® building community
Hachiroku24 is the online name of Spanish LEGO fan designer José María Pérez Suero. He regularly shares original models, vehicles, characters, and dioramas inspired by games, movies, and other recognizable themes.
His name is also associated with an official LEGO set. José María Pérez Suero created the original fan design for the LEGO® Ideas Insect Collection (21342). This set features a blue morpho butterfly, a Hercules beetle, and a Chinese praying mantis in their natural habitats.
The GTA VI logo is the main eye-catcher
The most striking part of the diorama is the large Grand Theft Auto VI logo. The white letters are built entirely from LEGO pieces and hang like a large sign above the scene.
For the text, hachiroku24 primarily uses smooth white tiles. By combining tiles of different lengths, he creates the straight lines, angles, and staggered spacing of the iconic Grand Theft Auto font.
The logo isn’t just a decoration. It forms the entire background of the diorama and immediately makes it clear which game it’s about. Without the logo, the scene would still be a fun speedboat chase. With the logo, it becomes unmistakably GTA VI.
Building Sideways for Sleek Letters
Not all parts in the logo are placed with the studs facing up in the usual way. To make the letters thinner and sleeker, hachiroku24 uses various sideways building techniques.
This building method is often called SNOT. The acronym stands for Studs Not On Top. Using modified bricks, headlight bricks, and brackets, you can attach pieces to the side of a model. This allows you to create a smooth vertical front without visible studs everywhere.
When building sideways, pay close attention to the dimensions. The height of a single standard LEGO brick is equal to the thickness of three plates. By taking this ratio into account, you can ensure that sideways sections connect neatly to regular bricks and plates.
The water consists of more than just blue plates
The water in the diorama is built using various shades of blue and transparent light blue pieces. This creates more depth than a completely flat, single-color surface would.
Around the bow and behind the speedboat, hachiroku24 uses smaller slanted pieces. These represent splashing water and the bow wave. The varying directions and heights make the water look turbulent, which fits well with a boat trying to escape quickly.
A flat section can represent calm water, while raised and slanted parts are suitable for waves. Use white parts to add foam. Placing a few transparent parts on top of each other also makes the water appear deeper.
Palm trees with crowns as trunks
The three palm trees instantly give the diorama a tropical feel. Without these trees, the model would lose much of its Vice City atmosphere.
The most striking detail is in the trunks. Hachiroku24 uses several dark beige crown elements with Design ID 39262 for this. The parts are stacked on top of each other, creating a ribbed and slightly irregular tree trunk.
This is a great example of Nice Part Usage, often abbreviated as NPU. In this case, a builder uses a part in a completely different way than you would expect based on its name or original function.
Also check out the individual LEGO® plant parts for leaves, branches, flowers, and stems. By combining different sizes and shades of green, you can prevent every tree from looking exactly the same.
GTA VI is set to release on November 19, 2026
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026. The game follows Lucia and Jason, who, after a botched job, become entangled in a larger criminal saga in the state of Leonida.
Vice City, the tropical coastal areas, the colorful vehicles, and the recognizable characters offer plenty of inspiration for LEGO MOC builders. hachiroku24’s diorama shows that you don’t have to wait for an official LEGO collaboration to get started.
Grand Theft Auto VI is aimed at an adult audience. In this MOC, hachiroku24 focuses primarily on the game’s visual style, the tropical setting, and the cinematic speedboat chase.
