John Raymond "Ray" Arnold is the chief engineer of Jurassic Park.
On Sunday morning, Hammond tells Arnold to shut down and reset the entire system in the park. Arnold does not think that is a good idea because they have never shut down the entire system before and he is not sure if they will be able to restart either. Hammond is adamant the system will shut down.
Ray goes to the maintenance shed on his own to reset Jurassic Park. While fixing the electricity in the shed, he is ambushed and killed by a raptor. Arnold's family sues InGen for Ray's death and demands a $23 million fine in a lawsuit.
